The New Beetle goes out in grand style
All good things must come to an end, and that even applies to the current generation of the charismatic New Beetle. In an exclusive send-off, the past, present and future all come together in a limited-production New Beetle "Final Edition." Only 1,500 coupes and 1,500 convertibles will be built, each with a host of unique upgrades and distinctive touches.
All Final Edition coupes are finished in special Aquarius Blue paint with a black painted roof, complimented with a sharp black V-Tex leatherette interior. The Final Edition convertible goes a step further with a head-turning, two-tone Aquarius Blue and Campanella White paint scheme with a black power-folding top and gorgeous white leatherette upholstery. All models have a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift handle and hand brake.
Each Final Edition car is individually numbered, with a special badge on the bottom spoke of the steering wheel to denote "X of 1,500." The coupe also has an individually numbered badge on the exterior, as well as fog lights integrated into the front bumper.
For extra driving excitement, Final Edition coupes and convertibles are equipped with a Sport Chassis, featuring a tighter steering rack and full sport-tuned suspension. Special 17-inch "Oktopus" alloy wheels are standard. All are equipped with 150-hp 2.5L 5-cylinder engine matched with the sporty 6-speed automatic with Tiptronic.
There are NO options; the well-equipped Final Editions come with all the standard equipment found on other 2010 New Beetles, plus the extra features described here. This makes them an especially good value! The Final Edition coupe is priced only $600 over a standard model and the Final Edition convertible is $1,000 more than the stock convertible. Not only are the Final Editions future collectors' models, but some of their extra features -- such as the Sport Chassis, wheel design, unique paint and badging -- are exclusive to these special models.
